Conventional Water Well Pump Systems

The conventional water pump (traditional water pump) system is the most common option for selecting a water well pump. These units operate at only two speeds, on and off. A pressurized switch controls the conventional pump system, turning the unit on when a certain pressure level is reached, and likewise, shutting it off once the necessary level is reached.

Residential Water Well Pump System Sizing

A properly designed residential water supply system should deliver water at the desired quantity, quality, and pressure to any outlet on the system during periods of heaviest use. To accomplish this, the peak demand for the home is determined and the well and pump are sized to meet or exceed the demand. If local geological conditions prohibit the development of a water supply with quantity to meet the demand, additional storage facilities are necessary.

Determining Water Well Pump Capacity

A simple method of determining pump capacity is based on the number of fixtures or outlets using water in your home or business. The pump capacity (in gallons per minute or GPM) should equal the total number of fixtures in your home or business.

Conventional Water Well Pump System Benefits:

  • A larger tank model produces longer cycles
  • Overall length of the pumping cycles being determined by the varying size of tank which you need
  • The pump not running while you are consuming water
  • Due to its “on” or “off” cycles, helps to conserve water and avoid unnecessary or wasteful usage.

Conventional Water Well Pump System Features:

  • 5 performance ranges - 5, 7, 10, 18 & 25 GPM
  • Ceramic shaft sleeve and rubber discharge bearing protect shaft and eliminate sand wear
  • Intermediate bearing included in 5-25 GPM units greater than 24" in length and/or 2 hp and higher to provide improved shaft stability
  • Thermoplastic and stainless steel models include built-in removable check valve system
  • Urethane Eye & Hub Seals are remarkably resistant to abrasives, allowing sand and other abrasives to pass through each stage without wear or damage
  • Powered by Franklin corrosion-resistant 4" submersible motors
  • Maximum water temperature 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Consult factory for further details
  • Built-in section screen on thermoplastic units and removable suctin screen on stainless steel units prevents debris from clogging impellers and provides full flow performance

Jonathan, I wanted to drop a couple of lines to tell you how satisfied and happy that I chose Capital Well Co. for my water needs. From your lead man Steve to your drill people, your plumbing guy and your guy on the back hoe. Everyone that cast a shadow on my door threshold were polite, professional and willing to take the time to explain and answer my questions; which were many . Jon, it was my pleasure to meet you today and pleased that you came by for a follow up visit and explain how the heater works. SO...if I get a chance to tell everyone that needs a new well, I definitely will. It is apparent there is no "I" in your team . Thank you everyone.
  • Richard Meaney

Mr. Swain, Thank you so much for the service Capital Well provided at my home today. I left a message with you at the behest of Ed Monty. I received a prompt phone call from Greg to arrange for a service call and to discuss what might need to be done. Promptly at (actually a few minutes before) the scheduled time, Bobby showed up to perform the service. Bobby was excellent at explaining the service, why some things were needed and how the well and pump worked, and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. All in all, this was a very positive experience for us. Thanks to you and the people at Capital Well for prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
